How the haylage is made
Haylage is a grass crop that is cut and wilted in the same way as hay but baled one or two days earlier. All the stages of haylage production are carried out by ourselves allowing us to harvest the crop at the correct time resulting in the best possible haylage.
The big bales are multi wrapped and stored safely until a mild fermentation process is complete, producing a moist, dust free product. Once wrapped, nutrients level stay the same until opened. After a suitable period of time our large bales are quality checked and then packed into smaller vacuum pack bales. The haylage is densely compressed to extrude as much air as possible and heat sealed ensuring none of the quality is lost.
